David Nowacki

David Nowacki is the Managing Director and founder of BlackPearl Capital Partners an asset management company focused on equities and alternative investments.

 

David is the Chief Investment Officer of BlackPearl Masters Fund, he has over 15 years of equities, alternative investments and derivatives investing experience in both local and international markets. He has significant experience in constructing and managing portfolios on behalf of wholesale and sophisticated investors.

 

Previously David worked at Macquarie Bank in the Banking and Financial Services Division and at Commsec on the wholesale trading desk. He has also held positions at HC Securities as a private client adviser where he provided investment advice to sophisticated investors specialising in equities, derivatives and capital raisings in both local and international equity markets. Prior to that David worked with Apsec as an Equity Research Analyst specialising in finding and valuing deep value, special situations mis-priced securities.

 

Over the years David has researched, modelled, tested, developed and implemented various investment strategies focused on value investing, equity long short, risk arbitrage, volatility arbitrage, global macro, distressed securities as well as other alternative investment strategies.

 

David holds a double degree in Applied Finance and Economics from Macquarie University and a diploma in Financial Planning from Mentor Group.

 

 

 

Alek Trpkoski

Alek has 23 years in Banking and Capital Markets experience. Previously Alek worked as Senior Banker at BankWest/CBA Group in the Commercial division where he was responsible for growing the banks credit portfolio, managing operational risk as well as regulatory compliance. 

While at Bankwest Alek grew and managed the specialized SMSF Portfolio by developing and fostering strong referral partnership through internal and external networks. During his tenure Alek regularly won Portfolio Manager and Portfolio Excellence awards. He was frequently ranked in the top quartile of his peers. 

Prior to that Alek spent 15 years at Westpac as a bank executive where he worked in Private Banking and the Business Finance division. At Westpac Alek was responsible for structuring and tailoring solutions to help high net worth clients with specific investment and lending needs. This included providing advice and solutions to clients looking to grow their business organically or through strategic acquisitions. 

Alek also advised on capital structure efficiency and commercial funding opportunities as well as alternative finance and lending options.
